my mind my life

well i have been in jaco for a week now and i’m surfing about everyday and although i was feeling really tired i managed to have a wonderful nights sleep last night and i’m looking forward to a new day with hopfully the joy of catching some waves, as the last two days my mind hasn’t really been in it and with the new shorter board i’ve been getting frtustrated in the water which means i’ve not managed anything that i have wanted to and the board wont play in the white water.

How long am i guna stay here i really don’t know as i should see other parts of costa rica but i just want to surf for an hour or two every day, so knowning me i wont bother moving until i have to catch my flight to ecuador.

In other news been invited to a wedding but unfortunatly i won’t make it to john and bev’s wedding maybe i’ll just have to have a drink with them when i get back to celebrate the day and watch the video, yeah wedding video’s the only one i have seen that has been any good was ravi’s one as it was done in a retro indian stylee although i bet that was all the rage when it was made

well i finally got around to getting myself a surfboard, so i went for in the end a blue 7′ 2″ fun shape, it was a very hard decision as i was so tempted to get get a mal but i went for the 7′ 2″ as its a little bit bigger than my magic carpet but its a fair bit thinner which will help i hope in getting out the back a paddling ability. i also took the wet-suit in that i had as it had a little chunk out of the front of it and got that swapped over as well.

the board was machine made in thailand, and from what the guy was telling me there are more and more boards being made in thailand, due to the cheap labor costs, its also a fiberglass board and i just need to wax it up and get out there, although i can’t do it this weekend as the van is in for a service !! so it will have to be monday or tuesday i reckon.

and now my spending is at about the end and i have everything that i need to start making my journey across australia which i think will start with a drive north !

i just need to make sure everything at work is ready for me to leave and then i am sorted !

with this illness i never managed to get out today. although my surfing is slowly coming along ! i think i need more time on my indo board to help with balance though !
